RTI Act, 2005 came into effect fully on 12th October, 2005.
The Right to Information Act, 2005 has been enacted with a view to promote
transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority and to contain
corruption in public life. Under the Act, every public authority is obliged to provide the
information about its organisation’s aims objectives, policies and programmes. The
information is to be made available suo motu and on the request of the applicant as per
provision of the Act.
Degination of the CPIO
Every Public Authority is obliged to designate as many CPIOs as considered necessary to provide the information to the applicant. AD(P) is the CPIO in respect of CBS, AIR, Cuttack.
The Act, provides that in case of failure on the part of CPIO to provide
information within the stipulated period of 30days or supply of incorrect or incomplete
information, the applicant may submit appeal to the 1st Appellate Authority against the
ADG (East Zone), All India Radio, 5th Floor, Akashvani Bhavan, Eden Garden, Kolkata is the Appellate Authority to consider the appeals filed under the RTI Act, 2005.

Application under RTI Act, 2005. can be submitted by the applicant with the Cashier/Steno, CBS, AIR, Cuttack. Suo motu disclosure The right to information Act, 2005 provides for suo motu disclosure of imformation on 17 points enumerated therein by the public authority.
Fee for RTI Application
Request for information is to be accompanied by the prescribed fee of Rs. 10/- by way of cash against proper receipt or the Demand Draft or the Banker’s Cheque or the Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of “SBI Account, All India Radio”. The fee can be deposited in cash with the cashier also.
